Frequently asked questions

What is PRP?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is an injectable treatment that uses a person's own blood. PRP utilizes platelets, essential for tissue healing and cell growth, to promote collagen production and rejuvenate cells. This process softens fine lines, tightens the vulva, and enhances skin tone and texture.

What areas can I treat with PRP injections?

PRP injections offer versatile treatment options for various areas, including the face, scalp, and intimate regions.

On the face, PRP can be used to rejuvenate the skin, address fine lines, wrinkles, and promote a youthful glow. For those concerned about hair thinning or loss, PRP can be applied to the scalp to stimulate hair growth. Additionally, PRP injections can also enhance intimate wellness by improving vaginal tone, addressing concerns like stress urinary incontinence, and heightening sensitivity.

These applications showcase the flexibility and potential of PRP injections in promoting overall well-being and confidence. To explore specific treatment areas and their benefits further, consider scheduling a consultation with our experienced practitioners.

How is PRP administered?

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), utilizes a fraction of the patient's blood collected in a syringe. After spinning down the blood in a centrifuge to separate its components, the platelet-rich plasma is then reinjected or micro-needled back into the vulva.

Is there any downtime associated with PRP?

There is no downtime associated with PRP injections; However, after your treatment, your vulva may be red. This is normal and to be expected. Redness usually lasts from one to 24 hours. You may also have a little swelling in some areas.

Due to this, some patients like to be treated towards the end of the week, so they have the weekend to recover. Healing time varies from patient to patient. Healing may take longer if PRP injections are paired with additional procedures.

How many PRP injections will I need?

Results can be seen after one treatment, but the exact amount of treatments needed varies from patient to patient.

Do PRP injections hurt?

During the PRP treatment, mild discomfort, often described as a burning or tingling sensation, may occur while the PRP is reinjected into the vulva. However, this sensation lasts only a few minutes. To ensure our patients' comfort, we provide topical numbing cream and apply ice to alleviate any discomfort throughout the entire procedure.

How long does a PRP treatment take?

A PRP treatment for the vulva usually takes around one to two hours to complete. This duration accounts for the time needed to draw and spin the blood in the centrifuge, as well as applying topical numbing. The treatment may involve PRP administered through injections or micro-needling into the vulva.

How long do results from PRP injections last?

PRP injections often yield results that can be enjoyed for years after treatment. It's important to note that these outcomes may differ due to individual variations in the quality of Platelet Rich Plasma and lifestyle factors.
